Fall 2010 Colours

Building on the colours from spring, the fall palette offers beauty and excitement with a blending of colours, some with similar undertones.

Exotic Purple Orchid, a purple leaning to fushia, is an unexpected choice for the fall, adding vibrancy to the season. Elegant Chocolate Truffle is a rich brown with plum undertones, that pairs well with Purple Orchid. Woodbine takes last season’s neutral greens to a whole new level, and when mixed with Purple Orchid and Chocolate Truffle, results in a stunning combination.

Lagoon, is this season’s turquoise (the Colour of the Year for 2010).  A popular hue, especially in accessories, pairing well with all shades of red. Lipstick Red is a deeper, more dramtic and sensual red, particularly for cosmetics. Golden Glow, an earthy, deepened shade of yellow, creates a retro look with Purple Orchid or Woodbine. A softer, more inviting orange with a hint of pink undertone, Living Coral is the perfect complement to lagoon. Crisp Endive, a revitalizing yellow-green, adds freshness to this season’s top ten. Oyster Gray, a classic neutral, is a lighter take on the traditional fall gray. Rose Dust, a flattering beige, that spans the seasons.

Pantone, Inc. is the world re-nowned authority on colour and provider of colour systems. Each season Pantone surveys the designers of New York Fashion Week to collect feedback on collection colours, colour inspiration and colour philosophy. This information is used to create the Pantone Fashion Colour Report, which serves as a reference tool throughout the year for fashion.
